HBO announced (on March 15th) that there will be an additional 26 episodes made. According to the current episode schedule, that is two seasons with 13 episodes per season.

The executive producer, David Chase, is said to have signed a deal worth more than $10 million to remain in his current position. Apparently he had planned to not have his current role after the third season.

As part of his contract David Chase will also write and direct a feature film for Time-Warner titled If I Fall.
