Indictments are the order of the day. At Larry Boy Barese's daughter wedding, everyone is talking about the indictments and that half of New York people have already left for Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This makes everyone nervous but Tony and his boys decide to stay and ride it out. The TV news also has a report that the entire Soprano outfit are possible subjects for a Grand Jury Investigation. Having their name mentioned makes everyone uneasy.... except Christopher. He isn't uneasy, he's totally upset the his name was not even mentioned! He starts to doubt himself, his importance and his significance. This affects him so badly that he starts having nightmares and begins pulling off a series of stupid stunts, including a shooting. A few days later he gets a call saying that his name was in the newspaper and referred to as a reputed gangster. He flies out of bed and drives to the nearest newspaper box and takes every single paper out of the bin. He's ecstatic and once again feels great. On one of Junior's visits to Livia she mentions that Tony is seeing a psychiatrist. To say the least, this sits very badly with Junior.

Vin Makazian informs Tony that someone close is wearing a wire and that someone is Pussy Bompensiero, one of Tony's oldest and closest friends. Tony finds this impossible to believe but the facts are against him. Pussy and Jimmy Alteiri had been arrested and taken to jail. Pussy's wife bailed him out but ever since the incident Pussy has been complaining of serious back problems. He sits around most of the day and has even neglected his collection rounds. Vin further states that Pussy does not want to end up in prison so he had no choice but to work with the police and Feds. Tony doesn't want to believe it but he has no other choice. He tells Paulie to check Pussy for the wire so he can be 110 percent certain. As a further twist Tony find out that Vin Makazian owed Pussy for 30 grand. Now Tony doesn't know if Vin wants Pussy 'out of the picture' because of that or if it's really true. Before Tony is able to find out Makazian is caught at a bordello and with all of the pressures and strains of his life, he ends up killing himself by jumping off of a bridge. This leaves Tony in a great dilemma. No one knows anything and now Pussy has disappeared. Jimmy Altieri shows up at Tony's house and talks to him about a job they had finished. Tony has been more and more depressed and can't even find a reason to even get out of bed. Dr. Melfi sees these bad tendencies and increases his dose of medication. While wandering around the bedroom window, Tony looks out and sees a beautiful Italian woman in the yard of their next door neighbor, the Cusamano's. This finally draws Tony out of bed and he walks over to meet her. He finds out her name is Isabella and she is an exchange student studying dentistry. They talk more and even go out to lunch where Isabella tells him about older and more peaceful times. Tony even has a vision of seeing a young woman from a long time ago breast-feeding a baby named Antonio. Junior's hit against Tony is finally all planned out. Two hit-men are waiting in a car where they know Tony will show up. The first attempt failed when Christopher got in the way. However, the next day they were there again and this time came out with their guns ready. In the heat of the attack, Tony killed one of them while the other one was being dragged along side his car. He finally fell off and was taken to a hospital. Tony was also injured and landed in the hospital. An FBI agent (Agent Harris) shows up and wants Tony to enter the Witness Protection Program, explaining that this hit was not a car-jacking but an attack on his life. Of course Tony didn't want to hear any of this. He just wanted to find out who is was that put the hit out on him. When Tony finally met with Dr. Melfi again, he tells her that Isabella was just a figment of his imagination, she never was real. Dr. Melfi said that although this was a bad sign to be having these types of hallucination, it did express a need for a mother figure for Tony. All in all Tony says he is now feeling much better than he has in a long time.
