I think the sister is fantastic and can't wait to see where they go with
her....

hope that Tony gets back with Melfi -- even though she hates him, I still
feel sexual energy between them that just won't quit

love the son and wish they did more with him. His one great line in the
opening show when the sister was screaming hello was to hold his hands over
his ears and say "f..." I know kids who react like this to older relatives.

Can't figure out why they brought Pussy back in, but I am sure they have a
good reason for it.

the first episode really nothing was wrong with it, in a show were many
characters it is inevetable that new characters need to be introduced. As
far as excepting pussy back, I agree with Tony tack him back he was T's best
friend but keep him under close watch for a while. As for Dr. Melfi what a
fox this season, good for her gettin some balls. As for Christopher, I
always rooted for him last season but I think they should have made him
develop into an addict not just become one, they made a good character very
unappealing. As for Cologero from a bronx tale and the other gone get rid of
those morons there just two more Brendans but dumber. Overall I give it a C
but I am still optimistic.

I have to think there was a reason for the terrible first episode...
If the show continues with the flavor it had this sunday....I will be
mourning the "SOPRANOS"
Total disappointment...to a point of apaty..."Why not, every other channel
does it, why not HBO"
If im lucky, the first show was the worst show of the season...

Very disapointed after waiting so long to see the new series. Hopefully it will improve because last night the show had no story. There's too many situations and characters brought in way too soon. They should have just kind of continued with the last series and gradually introduced other situations and characters. As far as the sister goes, what goes with that old car and clothes. Pussy's car was an old model also. IT's hard to believe the family doesn't take care of their own even though they don't live close. If anybody will screw up the family it will be the nephew Anthony. He's a royal spoiled brat. The people he has working for him are no better either. In real life this kid would have been eliminated regardless
of his family ties. Although there was adult rating at the beginning of the show were the explicit sex scenes really necessary? After all the show was aired at 9:00. One last thing, I believe in real life the mafia does have ties with law enforcement. The last series had this connection and the detective was written out of the show - why?

shooting of philly the most violent and shocking thing ive ever witnessed .
thats what make this show so special one minute their is concern for his
family the next minute someones getting their brains blown out

1-Big Pussy-Tony isn't convinced that Big Pussy is for real. That was
evident when Big Pussy was talking to the boys around the grill. I think
Big Pussy is for real. If he wanted to assist the Feds he could have
easily talked about Tony's operation. Big Pussy took a hell of a risk
coming back to Tony. My feeling; Big Pussy will do something exceptional
to get back in Tony's good graces, well as good as they could ever get
again. Big Pussy wouldn’t have risked his life coming back to work for
the Feds, he was able to hide in Puerto Rico fine!

2-Christopher and Adriana-Christopher is turning into a junkie while the
world around him changes without him. My gut feeling, Adriana will
continue to pursue her quest of being in the record business and getting
involved intimately with Massive Genius. This will be the wake up call
that Christopher will need. Christopher isn't taking this "thing of
ours" seriously because he feels Tony is keeping him at arms length,
when in reality, Tony cares so much for Christopher. Tony is desperately
trying to set Christopher up with a less violent operation, hence the
brokerage firm. Christopher will turn things around when he gets "made."

3-Dr. Melfi will treat Tony again once her new Therapist makes her see
the light. I still think that Melfi has a thing for Tony!

4-Carmela-Tony and Carmela's relationship looks real bad. Tony doesn't
seem to want her emotionally and physical. Carmela seems to be crying
out for attention. Carmela might be the one who has the affair with a
therapist! I agree that Carmela will try the therapist thing to grab at
straws to save her marriage and to try to understand Tony better. The
whole thing will backfire because just as Father Phil, she will fall for
someone who gives her attention.

Janice-Now we know where Livia's genes ended up! Janice will end up a
regular on the show for awhile because she may be the only person that
will be on Livia's side. I wouldn't look for Janice to take Livia to
Seattle. Janice will end up dead, drug overdose. Tony will hunt down the
people who sold her the drugs, it will be his own operation.

New Faces-gotta have the new faces because somebody's gotta get whacked!
The new guy who did the hit on Philly should become a regular. The
retard twins in the brokerage firm will end up dead because they will
make a move on Christopher thinking that they will get Tony's
approval. can't wait for Jackie Aprile's brother Richie, to surface. He
appears to on bad ass! I think the show needs someone other than Jr
Soprano to challenge Tony's business.

If anyone remembers the show Wiseguy, it was successful because of the
revolving door of characters that entered the show. The characters would
resurface from time to time giving the show some stability, I feel the
same thing will and should happen with Sopranos. While the core will
remain the same, new faces will be appearing and old faces (the ones who
aren't sleeping with the fishes) will re-appear in later episodes. Story
lines from the first season will be addressed as the show gets deeper
into the season. Father Phil, Massive's law suit against Hesh, College
for Meadow, Tony Jr's inquisitiveness of dad's business, Livia, Uncle
Jr, the Bucco's and the incredible funny overtones that Silvio and
Paulie brought to the show last season.

As for last season, I hated to see Michael Palmice go. I think he could
have been a force that Tony could have had trouble with, especially
being Jr's right hand man. I loved the character of Jackie Aprile (actor
Michael Rispoli) he was so, Mafiaish, so New Yorkish, so Italianish...I
enjoyed him. Brendan Filone and Jimmy Altieri, they won't be missed by
me, they were revolving door type characters I was speaking of.

These are my predictions and based on the series opener, I will once
again be proved wrong, but hey, it's fun to think about it! Ciao!

I think the sister works as a fillin for the mother now that Li via out of
action for a while and she is going to need someone to get her point across
to Tony and the sister is perfect for that. I think Christopher in the
brokerage house is perfect new businesses for the family of course
Christopher and his two buddies will screw it up big time. Pussy is not
telling the truth but I don't think He is helping the feds, It's something
else.

ok ..all in all the first episode was a good introduction to kick off the
rest of the season..Janice is evil like her mother..She is only interested in
getting money from her mother, it's a good thing Tony is on to her...She
definately knows what she is doing...I do have a question about Carmela
though..When did you and Tony ever have sex??? I think she really needs to
address the mistress thing..but Tony still does what Carmela asks. I thought
it was really good and I look forward to next week. AJ got so cute!!!

Great Show. They need time to bring the opening episode together. After a
few weeks, we should see all the aspects covered.
I agree the sister is out of place, but there's got to be a point to it.
These guys just don't say, "Hey let's add a distant sister". There's a
reason. We all we see. Dr. Melfi is terrific. Watch and see, she will
someday be Tony's "Consigliere".
Pussy is still a question. Something is just not right. In this business,
you just don't disappear and reappear that easily.

I think this first episode is really a disappointment in comparison with
the ones from the first season. Ok, with that out of the way...give the
sister (Parvati?) a chance. I think, though, that Tony has let her
come back into the family fold too quickly. Somehow, that doesn't ring
true.

Pussy - his explanation is too pat... I know that Tony is very fond of
Pussy but as a good leader, who has been betrayed before, he oughtn't to
let him just come waltzing back in without proving his loyalty again.

Christopher, what a mess! His storyline in this episode also doesn't
ring true. His girlfriend should give him a shove. The two minigoons in
the brokerage firm are going to help Christopher screw things up for
Tony's business.

Ma - how convenient that it wasn't a stroke. I don't think she's evil
or truly manipulative in the sense that she ordered Brendan's "hit." or
even Tony's "hit." She just makes pronouncements and those idiots think
she's telling them something else!

All the main characters have gained weight except for AJ, who is growing
up, and has got a new haircut. Did anyone else notice how exhausted Dr.
Melfi looks? Furthermore, why is she running her business out of that
sleazy motel? Does she really think no one's gonna find her there!

They wrote in all these new characters because both Junior & Livia are currently out of commission in the plot scripting, but the commune sister is a typical soap-opera character and totally out of place in this show. After she made her appearance, the unique Sopranos feel of the series was gone for the remainder of the first episode. Unfortunately, they have already completed all 13 episodes and unless they did extra scenes to re-edit, the sister will be with us until Livia gets back into the flow. In real life, Nancy Marchand, has cancer and may not be able to continue in a strong role as Tony's mother.
