I thought this was the best episode of the season.
Furio is a great character, and I look forward to seeing more of him. The thought of a possible
old-school, western style stand-off between him and Richie could be really cool. This site's host commented that he liked Furio and disliked Richie. He hit the nail on the head, as I felt the exact same way. Long haired psychos are always cool characters. Remember Gary Oldman's character in the movie, 'State of Grace'? (If you haven't seen it, rent it tonight, thank me tomorrow).

I liked that the writers correctly identified Furio as a 'Zip', which is how American mafioso refer to 'our friends from the other side.'

Carmella continues to impress as she tries to support Tony, and has ostensibly become one of his closest allies, backing him up all the way. However, she stillwants him to be 'normal' around the family.

The dynamic is great, and further ampliphies the juxtaposition these people put themselves into on a daily basis. I see another emmy in her future, unless of course the great Lorraine Bracco beats her out.
Carmella vs. Dr. Melfi for Tony's attentions, and Lorraine vs. Edie for an award. Pretty cool.

I justed wanted to drop you a line and let you know how much I have enjoyed your website over the course of the Sopranos new season as well as prior. I find your site very refreshing and educational especially in the details of the episodes each week. I think Richie is a puke with a bad attitude and a very itchy personality, you know the seven year kind. I think he and Tony's sister are in cahoots together to try and make a move on Livia's house. I also see Richie, the dirt bag that he is, teaming up with Junior and all of his puke minions. Who knows maybe we'll get lucky and get to see Richie invited to a dirt nap courtesy of Furio and Tony.

On another tip, what's the deal with Christopher? He's my main man and I think that he's gonna be something real special when Tony's done molding him. Forget the acting classses, he needs to concentrate on proving himself to Tony and the family even more to reiterate his usefullness and posture to be a made guy. I mean come on, when you rub elbows with the "Boss" how much easier can you have it. However, Christopher shouldn't get slack in his ways because I got a slight hunch that Furio is gonna be running a strong show from here on out. If the other guys drop the ball then Furio will get all the credit for being Mr. Iron Balls.

As far as Big Pussy is concerned, well I'll put it like this, something my grandfather used to tell me "I morti non parlano!", it means that dead men tell no tails, get my drift?

Enough chat for now I guess I just wanted to thank you for putting one of the best Soprano pages out there on the net for fans like you and me. Your work is good, keep up the hard work!

"Ride bene chi ride ultimo!"
He who laughs last, laughs best!

As another visitor put it "Richie and Janice deserve one another". They are definatly nothing but trouble and with Richie already telling Junior that all he has to do is 'give the word', you know that Tony's life has got to be in danger. If and when Junior ever gets out of federal watch he's going to want back everything that was his and there may be a major power struggle. I think Tony knows this and that's why he's starting to bring guys over from Italy.

It is kind of a shame about Pussy. Although he was always kind of out of place, his personality is getting worse and worse and not too many people will miss him at the rate it's going. Christopher, on the othert hand is another story. He's also going through changes but everyone keeps rooting for him. He does a lot of dumb things and if he wasn't Carmela's nephiew I don't think Tony would let him get off as easily.

First, I want to say that this website gives me a lot of insight. I just started watching this show a little bit before the new season started ( I watched the re-runs, b/c I heard this is a great show to watch, so I wanted to catch up). I am not too familiar with the characters, but from this sight and from the other viewers' comments, I am understanding it more.
Here's what I have gathered:

Remember in Tony's house when Christopher was asked about the money and Christopher said that he only got half?? Tony said to leave it alone because he already knew that he could count on Fiorio to do it. I think Fiorio is going to replace Christopher. If you think about it, Tony would have told Christopher to do that job, but since he has another alternative, Fiorio, he is not going to use Christopher that much.

I do agree that Fiorio is a very likable character. He gets to the point (unlike Christopher, my point before). In contrast, Richie is an unlikeable character. I thought that that was so pathetic when Tony went over and Richie was there. He just came off as a loser to me. Janice always tries to act naiive and like she doesn't know anything. I would love to know what kind of job she thinks she is going to get to pay off a loan, and I woule LOVE to know exactly how Richie is going to help.

Dr. Melfi.........I think she has adopted Tony's mentality, and maybe like she said, it is theraputic for her. It seems to me that she is seeing him to figure out more about herself. Anyone agree??

I'm not so sure that Furio is going to replace Christopher but he's going to add on to the muscle that Tony needs. I don't think we would have seen that big smile grow on Tony's face after he told Christopher not to worry about it. Although we never really see it I'm sure that Tony must know that Christopher isn't pulling his weight. I think that Tony, out of some type of loyalty to the immediate family (after all Christopher is Carmela's sisters son) overlooks much of what Christopher does. Tony mentioned several times during this episode that some changes are going to be made. He's getting more people and it looks like he's getting them from the Italian side of the business. Maybe he feels he can trust them more since they haven't been involved in everything that's been going on over here. If they are all like Furio then we can see they are no-nonsense - get the job done people.

As far as Richie and Janice - definitely a few losers. Both are very manipulative and devious. It didn't take long to dislike them and enjoy seeing them defeated. I think a future confrontation between Furio and Richie is inevitable.

You're right about Dr. Melfi's mentality. She has taken on some of Tony's characteristics. Last season she seemed repressed, shy and cowardly. But look out, that's all going to change now.
