"Members Only"- Season 6 opener! First impression: Definite wow factor tonight! After a somewhat lack luster season 5 things are looking up. The first minutes leading into the episode were incredible. Any book makers out there with odds on the fate of Tony after tonight? Did Vito really lose weight or were the pants just REALLY big? Johnny Sac looks good in orange. Ginny's brother looks like a total dweeb. Erie feelings seeing Adrianna again huh? Hopefully the FBI works better in real life than on the Sopranos. Every stoolie ends up dead by accident. It seems this family is slipperier than a vat of Olive Oil. Who'd have thought Janice could have another baby? Where is AJ going to school? Carm came out the separation smelling like a rose, but is burnt from poor quality wood! It just goes to show you can't even trust your own father sometimes. What's up with all the sushi? Nice car? Anyone want to get thrown over the hood of a car, by a hit and run driver, and come out with 50 grand? Paulie, Silvio and Chris are about the most stable coming into the new season. Where is all the awsome music? synopsis: In no particular order! Junior's mental status appears to be failing. He has Tony outside digging holes for money that has long since disappeared and reminiscing about past associations, but one big note is that he is fully aware of his mounting legal bills. Johnny Sac is in prison, with trial pending. Phil is in charge. Ginny is dealing with creditors and losing most of what they do own. Johnny suggests selling his car..... Christopher wants to buy it..... that will NEVER happen. Eugene inherits 2 Million from an aunt. He and his wife want to move to Florida, but he has taken an oath. He tries to bribe Tony with expensive gifts to let him out. That doesn't work. He is conned into executing a guy with a bad debt as a favor to encourage Tony to let him out. In the end Eugene was a snitch, the FBI wanted him to stay in Jersey and he hung himself in the basement of his home. Janice and Bobby have a 15 month old daughter. Bobby has a new hobby.... trains. Janice wants Junior in an assisted living facility because she doesn't want to be burdoned with caring for him on a rotating basis. Tony and Carm and reconciled and enjoying life. They found a new dining place! Sushi, and they can't seem to get enough of it. I counted Tony in that place 3 times this episode. Tony surprised her with a new Porsche SUV. Carm bought a chunk of Real Estate to build a house on spec. Her dad is doing the work, but is not using lumber that's up to code. They must start over, money lost and relationship is a disaster between father and daughter. Vito's been on a diet and that's all he can talk about these days. Ray, the well known informer drops dead just before he tells the story of what's on the "poor quality" tape. The FBI ends up with nothing. Hesh and his son-in-law, after dining out of town at a chinese restaurant, are involved in an altercation resulting in the son being hit by a speeding taxi. The driver got away. The son is badly injured. The New York boys cough up 50 large because of their involvement in the incident. Christopher's great line.... "chinks did this?" Silvio, Paulie, AJ and Meadow had very little screen time this episode. Dr. Melfi is trying to encourage Tony to send Junior to an assisted living facility. He's still having sessions but is not taking his Prozac. Tony ends an outing on the Stugotts to care for Junior. Junior is worried about his missing teeth. Tony directs him upstairs to look for the dentures. Junior returns with a gun, sputters some Italian and shoots Tony in the abdomen. The episode ends with Junior hiding in a closet, and Tony struggling to call 911. He is on the floor with the phone dangling and he cannot speak. It's been brought up before that Junior could be faking this deteriorating mental status. I still hold that as a question. Could the translation of the Italian hold a clue? I keep thinking about how he is so aware of the bills and seemingly not much else. That's it for this episode, I hope the next is just as awsome as this one. This season is looking up~ Kudos to David Chase and the gang |
